How do you get rid of fogging in your masks?

“Getting foggy in your mask is something we've all been through before. I know very well how frustrating it can be, no matter how many times you try to wash your mask under water, the fogging only gets worse! But fortunately, there are solutions to make this phenomenon disappear.
The first thing you need to do when buying a new mask is to burn it off. To do this, take a lighter and burn the inner part of the glass.
This technique may seem strange, but from experience and having had many different masks, it is an essential step. Be careful to stay away from the rubber of the mask so that it does not melt. If you don't dare to do it yourself, ask a professional to help you, for example someone who works in a dive center or an experienced salesperson.
Then, after burning your mask, brush the inside with toothpaste. Do it right after the burn; the toothpaste should turn black when smeared into the mask. Make sure to use white toothpaste without "crystals", to prevent your mask from getting scratched! Leave on overnight for optimal results.
You can then wash off the toothpaste with soap and water, especially do not rinse it in the sea!
Just before diving, spit into your mask, then quickly submerge it in water without rinsing it off completely and place it directly on your face. Only remove it at the end of the dive.
I have found that spitting into my mask is the only thing that actually works against fogging.
If you've followed all of these recommendations, but your mask is still foggy, you may need to burn it again. It is also possible that you have rinsed out your spit too much. Diving is not a "fancy sport" so don't be afraid to give your mask a solid spit, we all do it! "
